Types of Data Collected:
- Anonymous User ID: We use Firebase Authentication to generate a unique, anonymous ID to associate your purchases with your device without personally identifying you.
- Purchase Information: Purchase history is managed by RevenueCat and the respective app store. We only receive confirmation of your active entitlements (e.g., "access to Tour X"), not your payment details.
- Location Data: With your permission, we access your device's location solely to show your position on the map while you are using the app. This data is not stored or sent to our servers.
- Anonymous Usage Analytics: We may collect non-personal, aggregated statistics (e.g., popular tours) to improve the app's functionality.
Purpose of Data Collection: The data collected is used to provide core app functionality (maps, purchases), securely manage your entitlements, and improve the overall user experience through anonymous analytics.
Data Handling Procedures: All offline content you download is stored securely and encrypted on your device using AES-GCM encryption. We do not share any personally identifiable information with third parties for marketing or advertising.
Data Retention and Deletion: Data stored on your device (preferences, offline content) can be deleted by you at any time from the app's menu. To request deletion of your anonymous server-side data (purchase history), please contact our support email.

6. AI-Assisted Content and Synthetic Media:

Some tour descriptions, place summaries, itinerary content, and related travel content in the App may be created or assisted by artificial intelligence tools before publication. This content is selected, reviewed, edited, and stored by us before it is made available in the App.

The App does not allow users to generate AI content from prompts. AI-assisted content is prepared outside the App and stored in our backend systems, including Firebase/Firestore, so it can be displayed as part of the App experience.

Some audio narration may be generated using synthetic text-to-speech technology, including Google Cloud Text-to-Speech. Some images may be AI-generated or AI-assisted illustrations. AI-generated or illustrative images may not represent the exact current appearance of a location.

We do not send your personal prompts to an AI model to generate tour content in the App. If we use third-party AI or text-to-speech providers in the future in a way that processes personal data, we will update this policy and provide any required disclosures or consent.

Our third-party services (like Firebase) may utilize standard log files for analytics and operational purposes. These logs contain non-personally identifiable information.

8. Cookies and Local Device Storage:

The City Tour Guide app does not use traditional web cookies. Instead, it uses your device's local storage to save your preferences, such as your chosen language, which tour spots you have marked as visited, and your audio playback progress. This data is stored only on your device and can be cleared from the app's menu.
